The City College softball team's home game versus Riverside Friday was called on account of rain. That is the fourth time this season the Lady Vaqs had a home game canceled due to drizzly weather.
Despite the missed games, the City College softball team has been on a roll lately going 4-1 in their last five games and running their overall record up to 22-13.
The girls are slated to hit the road for a doubleheader versus archrival, Ventura, this Saturday at 1:00 and 3:00 p.m.
The Lady Vaqs hosted five other schools for the SBCC Classic on April 8 and 9. Santa Barbara came out of that tourney with a split, two wins and two losses.
The team is upbeat about the season with hopes for the playoffs.
"I think we have a good chance [of making the playoffs]," said freshman pitcher Katie "Tex" McCormack. "We just need to keep winning."
